Happy holidays to one and all.

1.  ANNOUNCEMENTS

We will not publish BCDems: We the People newsletter in January. Look for it in your mailbox soon thereafter.

Also, "HotLines" is late this time because of the recent power-outage, and may arrive at unusual times during the month of January.  We will then be back on track.

January 27, Saturday, 10 am-3:00 pmPEOPLE OF COLOR ACTION ACADEMY at Chemeketa CC, Building 2, Student Progamming area, 4000 Lancaster Drive, Salem.  Join African American and Latino community leaders for a dialogue on building alliances and impacting the 2007 Oregon legislature:  minimum wage and farmworker rights, driver's license issues, criminal justice reform and other important topics. Contact aeryca@causaoregon.org for more intormation.

3.  VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE:  It's time to get things ready for the next election.  We must improve our use of MAD, VAN, bcdems.net, our list serve, and other new fun technologies.  Join us as we restart this critical comittee.  If you are interested, or want to learn what MAD really is, contact Biff Traber.

4.  SUCCESSES

The DEMO PARTY OF OREGON recently adopted (unanimously) the following BCDems' resolution: "Congratulations and thanks are offered to Chairman HOWARD DEAN of the Democratic National Committee for his wise leadership and strong determination in implementing a 50-state plan for strengthening the Democratic Party from the grassroots up."  Other Dem groups across the country have done the same.  Thanks to LoERNA SIMPSON and our delegation for carrying this forward.

5.  THANKS

It was a dark and stormy night....  The BCDems EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE thanks everybody involved for a fun and unique Holiday Party.  Thanks to those who worked on it, those who donated items, those who came, and those who bought.  It was a great time, even in the dark.

And ONE MORE TIME, in case you missed it, here's our new BCDems Executive Committee.  Thanks to all for agreeing to serve:

Sam Sappington: Chair
Gail Wolcott:  1st Vice Chair
Mario Magaña:  2nd Vice Chair
William Switzer:  Secretary
Biff Traber:  Treasurer (2nd Term...thanks)
