VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Technology Committee: It's time to get things ready for the next election. We must improve our use of MAD, VAN, bcdems.net, our list serve, and other new fun technologies. Join us as we restart this critical comittee. If you are interested, or want to learn what MAD really is, contact Biff Traber.
The Communications Committee needs a couple of people who read the G-T and/or
Barometer daily and are willing to clip mentions of the BCDems for us so
that we can track how we're doing in our efforts to stay in front of the
public. Email/call Davi Richards, 745-3866.
We need someone to do layout for the BCDems Newsletter, our monthly mailed
publication. You receive original text in MS Word via email from the editor,
use InDesign, Pagemaker, or similar software with an existing template
(including typefaces and logo), and upload to the printer. Usual turn-around
time is 2 to 3 days on a pre-arranged schedule. Use of Adobe Photoshop or
similar program for illustrations (no color required). Archived
illustrations from past issues, and clip art are available. If you think
you can help, email/call Davi Richards, 745-3866.
SUCCESSES
Belated thank-you and ovation to MERRY DEMEREST for her successful leadership in the No on 43 Campaign in the recent election. Straight talk to the Oregon voters made a difference. Thanks, Merry.
THANKS
From MARIO E. MAGAÑA: "Hi, my fellow Democrats. I've been away in Mexico, where I delivered a keynote lecture at a conference on circuit design and telecommunications...and have not had the opportunity to thank all my fellow Democrats who helped me during the campaign. Although I did not have the privilege to be elected, I am very grateful to those who believed in me and my ideas for a better and more democratic Oregon. Please know that I shall continue to be involved with our party and our ideals in one form or another.... From the bottom of my heart, thanks to you all."
Also, Planned Parenthood LAT would like to thank the BCDems for use of phone lines for "No on 43" phone banking. With everyone working together we were able to defeat a dangerous ballot measure.
And...congratulations and a BIG thank-you to our CAMPAIGN DONORS. Your help made a difference. Your $$ paid for Headquarters, phone lines, and important support for local campaigns. As always, we couldn't do this without you.
The Precinct Committee People at the recent BCDems meeting adopted a resolution thanking Democratic National Committee Chair HOWARD DEAN for his leadership and his contribution to victories in the U.S. House and Senate on November 7.
