BC Democrats Picnic Great Fun
The BC Democrats picnic had a new setting and some special entertainment this year. I'm not sure how many people came, but it was more than 50 at least. We ate very well with the many delicious side dishes provided by everyone, and the burgers and dogs provided by Merry and Harry Demerest (am I right, Todd?) - many thanks. Having round tables is always nice for having full table conversations. The silent pie auction continued throughout most of the evening, to raise dollars for Dems. Thanks for your generosity, pie bidders!
We were introduced to the candidates attending, and many of our elected officials were there also. Harry Demerest updated us on humorous political news and gossip, as at previous picnics. A few additional jokes were shared, and then we had the contra dancing!
The Boys and Girls club provided a good space for dancing and a stage for the musicians, Amazon Creek, and caller, Woody Lane. We were taught the basics of the dancing, and then went to it. A special thank you to the considerable number of experienced dancers who helped the rest of us muddle through. It was really fun and excilarating!! My spouse and I played several games of pool, also.
Many special thank you's to the picnic's planners for a great time: Todd Barnhart and Ann Gaidos-Morgan. Were there others I have neglected to mention?
