100 Actions - #92 not needed in Oregon!

100Actions.com has a post called "Take a Vacation Day" that's worth checking out...

Start planning for Election Day by taking November 7th off work. You can't help get out the vote if you have other obligations, so take a minute to clear your schedule early.

ok, that's from the DPO, and it's great advice — outside of Oregon. here, of course, we have 17 days of GotV (get out the vote) because of vote-by-mail. some people miss going to the polls (i do) but the flip-side is that we have excellent voting rates, the chance to take time to vote smart, and zero voter fraud.

here at the BC Dems, we don't ask for you to take an entire day off; we just ask that you give one or two evenings to help with phone banking and maybe one evening to go door-to-door. these are easy activities but hugely vital. this year, victory is going to go to whoever can convince their people to vote. we can take back the House and defeat these heinous ballot measures (TABOR and parental notification), but we have to get every Democrat to vote and as many independent voters as possible. and if we can do that across Oregon, we'll win an election that has huge implications for the future of our state.
