First, many thanks to those of you who stepped up to help; it worked!
Now let me explain more.
Those of you who heard my treasurer's report at the central committee meeting will remember my discussing our near term cash problem. We had deferred major fund raising and had taken on a new project - providing copies of the US Constitution to Benton County high school seniors. As a result, my projections showed us having a cash flow problem over the summer, until we reached the major fundraising event in September.
At the meeting, we asked for special help for the constitution project. Your response and a continuing response to the May fund raising letter has pushed us past our June budget and given us some much need breathing room. MANY THANKS!
That said, our needs continue. While we have some big fund raisers planned later this year, we have ongoing expenses like the headquarters and the newsletter - a key to communicating with active Democrats. One giving alternative you might find easier to deal with is a regular contribution. Budgeting and sending the BC Dems a small amount each month as you make other payments will reduce the impact of a single donation and make it part of your routine. Several of our donors make monthly donations using a check. We are also investigating other ways to automate the process. In any case, consider a small monthly donation and let me know if you are interested in an automated process.
