The BCDems regular monthly meeting will be irregular this month. We’ll be meeting Thursday Nov 17, STARTING AT 6:00, in the Fireside Room and/or Upper Hall at Grace Lutheran, with PIZZA served, and getting into small groups to begin with, to work on our own revisions and additions to the 2012 draft of the DPO Platform and Legislative Action Items (LAI’s) recently sent out by the State Platform and Resolutions committee. This can be found at this website – the links are at the top of the left column. If you can, PLEASE PRINT THE ENTIRE PLATFORM AND LAI’s (= Legislative Action Items), OR THOSE PAGES IN WHICH YOU HAVE THE MOST INTEREST and bring them to the meeting. We will only have a few copies at the meeting....
Counties may submit revisions to the platform and any additional Legislative Action Items (LAI’s), as well as propose retractions of LAI’s that may be out of date, for the State PRC to consider in making a working draft for the State Platform Convention to use when it meets on April 20-22. Our deadline is Dec 31, so we decided it would work best to do this work at this month’s meeting. If possible, PLEASE submit any new LAI’s you would like discussed at this meeting (along with the platform plank they should go under, please) to BCDems platform and resolution committee co-chairs, Cal Henry or Rachel Ozretich by Nov 15 via email or snail mail. One of us will print them up and make copies for everyone. Then they can be considered, revised, and voted on by everyone more quickly & easily at the meeting. Nevertheless, if you can’t do this ahead of time, you will still be able to submit an LAI during the first part of the meeting IN WRITING on paper, so bring a tablet. This should be fun and interesting – AND PIZZA!!
