Obama in Albany on Friday:  We just got word this morning that Senator Barack Obama will be at the Albany Fairgrounds today, Friday, at 3:30 PM, doors open at 1:45 p.m.  Tickets required and are available from 9:00-12:00 today at the Corvallis downtown Obama Office (4th and Jefferson) or at the AMF Bowling Lanes at 1246 Clay St. in Albany.  Tickets are free, first come first served, 2 tickets per adult, limited seating available. They're almost gone, so hurry.

Clinton in Portland:  Join Rep. May 15, Thursday, 7:00 pm: BCDEMS REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING. Last meeting before our Primary election. Grace Lutheran Church, Harrison and Kings, Corvallis. We will consider a resolution on banning LNG facilities in Oregon and hold open discussions on plans for Campaign HQ, the DPO's final platform document for 2008, and logistics for sending BC Dems to the delegate selection conventions on June 7 and 21.  Additionally, we will hear from local Benton County candidates AND Rep. Sara Gelser will talk with us about statewide strategies for increasing the Democratic Party's majority in the Oregon House of Representatives.  

May 18th, Sunday, 6 pm:   FAREWELL PARTY FOR JOHN & MARTY PUMA.  John served as the Chair of the Linn County Dems from 2004-2006.  He and his wife, Marty, are moving to Sicily.  Friends and well-wishers are invited to join them at Pop' Branding Iron Restaurant in Albany, 901 Pacific Blvd (intersection of Pacific and Madison), in the banquet hall. 

New Clinton Field Staff in Corvallis-  Hours 9am-9pm
The Clinton campaign now has a full time field person working in Corvallis.  Her name is Amanda Iwinksi, and she can be reached at 832-477-6465.   She will be available to help people reach out to Oregon voters by telephone seven days a week from 9am to 9pm.  Call today to set up your shift.

And, remember....The Benton County Democrats WILL NOT ENDORSE ANY CANDIDATES before the May 20 primary election for races in which two or more Democrats are running for the same office. However, we welcome and encourage notices and announcements from Democratic candidates and their supporters. We're trying to keep up, so continue to keep us informed.
